Many cases of counterfeiting crimes happen everywhere and lately it's quite troubling us all. There are times when fraud is supported using advanced technology and often difficult to solve.
Recently there was a glimmer of hope to overcome it. Some researchers at the University of Arkansas stated that they now have to find new ways to change that. Research carried out related to the new method is more effective on the fingerprint device using RFID tags.
RFID technology itself has been there a few years ago. RFID itself is usually implemented in many business and retail sectors, such as warehousing, inventory and others. And now researchers are trying possibility of applying RFID technology on other sectors, and one of them is the crime of criminal fraud.
The researchers have proved that every RFID tag has a minimum power response is unique in several radio frequencies. Power response tags are indeed significantly different, even for the same tag models though.
Physical characteristics are determined not allow the researchers to create an electronic fingerprint associated with each RFID tag, but not really depend on any modifications or encryption on the tag itself. In other words, by using this device almost by accident can be implemented with relative ease and without additional cost.
